Work Experience:

 

  • 11/93 to Present:  Independent private practice within the offices of Paul Tobin, Ph.D., P.C. and Ann Benjamin, M.Ed., Inc. Practice focus is primarily children ages 4 to 18. Childrens issues include managing mood (anxiety, depression, anger), improving social skills, school problems (attention deficit, learning disabilities), and coping with loss.  Adult caseload addresses anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and adjustment to loss through death and divorce.  Additional services include groups (for children and parents), and school consultation.

 

  • 5/93 to 5/94: Post-Doctoral Fellow volunteering with the Hope Center in Edmond, OK.  Provided acute care counseling with children and adults.  Practiced under the supervision of Dr. Paul Tobin, Counseling Psychologist, while preparing for licensure.

 

  • 1/92 to 12/92: Assistant Clinical Director of Psychiatric and Addictions Recovery Services (P.A.R.S.) Queens, NY.  Developed and implemented an innovative substance abuse day program.  Coordinated programming, wrote patient and staff manuals.  Co-Chair of Utilization Review and Quality Assurance Committee.  Caseload included children and dual diagnosis adults.  Practiced under the supervision of Dr. James Chin, Clinical/School Psychologist while completing supervisory requirement for licensure.

 

Internship Experience:

 

  • 8/90 to 12/91: Psychiatric and Addictions Recovery Services (P.A.R.S.) Queens, NY. Clinical work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.  Revised an inpatient psycho-educational program for use in outpatient setting.  Psychological evaluations.  Co-lead codependency group for women.  Practiced under the supervision of Dr. James Chin, Clinical/School Psychologist, while completing graduate degree.

 

  • 9/88 to 8/90:  Project Outreach/Long Island Jewish Hospital, West Hempstead, NY.  Extended internship with substance abuse/dual diagnosis adults and adolescents.  Experience with mandated referrals, lead and co-lead groups.  Practiced under the supervision of Dr. Norman Blumenthal, Clinical Psychologist, while completing graduate degree.

 

  • 9/87 to 6/88: Roslyn Public Schools, Roslyn, NY.  Psychological evaluations of preschool through high school students to identify learning disabilities.  Interfaced with multi-discipline child study teams and parents.  Practiced under the supervision of Dr.Theresa Schoenig, Clinical/School Psychologist, while completing graduate degree.
